Expect the weather to be in the 40s during the day on Cape Cod in March. There are many excellent walks that you can do in the area.
Bird Watching
For information visit the Cape Cod Bird Association site: http://massbird.org/ccbc/. The Shining Sea Bike Path near Oyster Pond is a good place to visit. There are a number of sanctuaries on Martha’s Vineyard.
Falmouth
Falmouth is a classic New England town, with historic churches near the Falmouth Village Green. (Woods Hole is officially a village within Falmouth.)
Bike trips
Weather permitting bike trips are also possible. Bike rentals are available in Falmouth (http://www.cornercycle.com) and there is convenient shuttle service between Woods Hole and Falmouth. The Shining Sea Bicycle Path is a 3.5 mile trip (one way) which skirts Vineyard Sound between Woods Hole and Falmouth and has beautiful views along the water. It connects with a scenic 23-mile road loop through Sippewisset.
Martha's Vineyard.
This tiny island off Cape Cod remains one of the most popular and picturesque destinations in New England with stately Greek revival houses dating back to the whaling era of the early 19th century. Most visitors prefer to explore the island on a bicycle, scooter or public buses. It is only accessible by air or ferry. The ferry terminal is located in Woods Hole Village.
